CRANSTON

Anne T. Clarke, 94, of Warwick, formerly of Cranston, passed away on June 12, 2023, at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick, RI after a brief illness. Anne was born on January 10, 1929, in Providence, RI, to the late William and Honor (Duffy) Clarke.

Anne worked as a buyer for Gladding's Department Stores, Peerless, and Cherry and Webb. After retiring in 1992, she moved to North Augusta, SC, where she assisted her brother, Rev. Peter Clarke, at St. Edward Church. She resided there until she relocated to Brentwood Assisted Living in 2020.

She was a devout Catholic who lived her life according to the teachings of her faith.

Anne had a passion for travel and visited her relatives in Ireland on numerous occasions. She also explored Europe and Israel as a tourist. Her last adventure, at the age of 86, was zip-lining in Costa Rica.

She is survived by her three nephews: Daniel E. Clarke and his wife, Susann, of Cumberland; Steven M. Clarke and his wife, Susan, of North Kingstown; and Robert P. Clarke and his wife, Chris, of Falmouth, MA. She is also survived by her five great nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Sr. Margaret Clarke, IHM; William V. Clarke Jr.; and Rev. Peter Clarke, S.T.D.

Anne was baptized in St. Paul's Church, Cranston, and remained a lifelong parishioner, even during her years in South Carolina.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Anne's Life Celebration to be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10 AM in the St. Paul Church, Cranston.  Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.   Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.   Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home.
