Andre A.
Amaro
Jul 15, 1935 — Sep 11, 2025
Pawtucket
Andre A. Amaro, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his loving wife Mabilia Sena (Mota) Amaro, his partner in life for 65 beautiful years. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.
Born in Matanca, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Ludovina (De Almeida) Amaro. Andre came to this country in 1971, settling in Pawtucket.
He was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life—an avid gardener whose hands were happiest in the soil. Around his home, he was always tinkering, fixing, and improving, a true craftsman in both spirit and skill. Whether tossing a ball to the family dog, or sharing stories with his grandchildren, he radiated a quiet, steadfast love. But above all, it was time spent with family that meant the most—those everyday moments filled with connection, care, and the kind of presence that made everyone feel truly at home.
He was employed as a machine operator for American Insulated Wire Co., Pawtucket for many years until his retirement.
Andre will also be deeply missed, by his daughter
Maria Conceicao Cabral and her husband Agostinho of Pawtucket. His two grand-daughters: Victoria Cabral of Pawtucket, and Jennifer McMicken and her husband Thomas of Groton, CT. His two brothers: Alipio Amaro of Portugal, and Jose Aguiar of Pawtucket, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever carry him in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Andre's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Avenue Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
