Ana C.
Simao
Feb 25, 1941 — Apr 1, 2025
Cumberland
Ana C. Simao, 84, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Hope Health in Providence. She was the wife of the late Serafim Simao.
Born in Prados, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Cruz) Tomas. She moved to this country in 1972, settling in Cumberland.
Mrs. Simao was employed as an assember for Texas Instruments for many years until her retirement.
Ana's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy and solace as a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, where she rarely missed a daily Mass. A gifted seamstress, her hands worked magic with needle and thread, crafting not just garments but cherished memories. She took immense pride in her home, finding happiness in the simple yet profound pleasures of cleaning, gardening, and filling her kitchen with the comforting aromas of her delicious cooking. Above all, Ana's heart belonged to her family—her love for them was endless, but her greatest joy was showering her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren with affection.
She leaves her sons, Casimiro Simao and his wife Maria of Cumberland, Manuel Simao of Cumberland, Daniel Simao and his wife Lisa of Florida; her daughters, Ana Costa and her husband Jamie of Pawtucket, Helena Mobrice and her husband Paul of Cumberland, and Filomena Williams of Cumberland; her seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Jose Tomas of Central Falls, Avelino Tomas of Cumberland, Antonio Tomas of North Providence, Joao Tomas of Cumberland, Jamie Tomas of Cranston, Helena Rodrigues of Pawtucket, Olivia Rodrigues of Lincoln, and Dolores Correia of Cumberland; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Ana's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hope Health, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
