Ana Matilde Santos, 72, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Santos with whom she was married to for 46 years.

Born in Moçambique, Africa she moved to Portugal when she was 18 and then later immigrated with her husband to the United States where they made their home in Cumberland. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Marques Almeida e Céu Lázaro Almeida, both of Ribamondego, Portugal.

In addition to her devoted husband, she leaves behind her son Edgar Santos and his wife Katie Santos and her daughter Nancy Afonso and her husband Jorge Afonso all of Cumberland. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren Logan, Ethan, Ashton and Eliana. Her smile was the biggest and she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She was a proud mom and was her family's biggest support.

She also leaves behind her sister Luisa Lopes and her husband Manuel Lopes, along with several other brother and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also pre-deceased by her father-in-law Joaquim dos Santos and mother-in-law Lurdes dos Santos.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland. She loved sharing stories about her time working at Texas Instruments, where she worked for over 30 years, and the many friends she made there. She was a loyal and hard worker in all the jobs she held before retiring to take care of her grandchildren.

Her illness caused a lot of changes throughout the years, but her love and happiness showed through to her family and all those that were a part of her care journey, especially her husband who devoted so many years to taking care of her right until the end.

Her absence leaves a gaping hole in the lives of her family, but the end of her suffering brings peace to those who loved her. Truly an angel on earth and now in heaven. May she finally rest in the sweetest peace.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Ana's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.  Burial will be private.
