CUMBERLAND

Ana D. (DIegues) Neves, 96, of Cumberland passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Golden Crest Nursing Home in North Providence.  She was the wife of Jose M. Neves, and they had been married for the past 65 years.

Born in Portugal, she moved to this country in 1967, setting in Central Falls and later moving to Cumberland where she resided for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Neves was formerly employed as a factory worker at School House Candy in Pawtucket.

Ana was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting, but most of all loved spending time with her beloved family.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her four children, Lisa Watts and her husband Roland of Providence, Brett Neves and his partner Katrina Moynihan of Beverly, MA, John Neves and his partner Jennie Soares of Cumberland, and George Neves and his wife Christine of Cumberland; her grandchildren, Derek Watts and Travis Watts of Providence, Daniel Neves of Lincoln, Aimon Neves of Warwick, Jarred Neves and Kyle Neves of Cumberland; as well as two great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother and sisters.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Ana's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland.   A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
