CUMBERLAND

Amadeu daCosta Francisco, aged 76, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Hope Health in Providence, leaving behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Maria doCarmo Martins Albuquerque Francisco.

Born in the city of Santa Olilia, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, Amadeu was the son of the late Lagario and Clara (da Costa) Francisco. He immigrated to the United States in 1970, settling in Cumberland.

Prior to his immigration to the United States, Amadeu had enlisted in the Portuguese Army. In this country he worked for RIDCO in Pawtucket for over 15 years.

In his free time, Amadeu enjoyed watching television, particularly Portuguese TV. He also liked working in his yard, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Amadeu is survived by his son George Francisco and daughter-in-law Mary of Dartmouth, MA,as well as his grandchildren Preston and Logan Francisco. He also leaves behind his siblings Jose DaCosta, Esmolinda DaCosta, and Micas DaCosta, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Amadeu's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 8 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
