Alvaro L. Medeiros, 77, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Constance (Hemond) Medeiros.

Born in Sao Miguel, Portugal, he was the son of the late Oswald and Maria (Faria) Medeiros. He came to this country in 1955, settling Fox Point, Providence, then eventually becoming a longtime resident of Cumberland and West Palm Beach, FL.

He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time at the beach. Al also enjoyed going out and having a good time at local venues, to eat his favorite meals or to just sneak a few cold beers with his family and friends. He was an avid New England sports fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was employed as a chemical mixer, Arlon Technologies, East Providence for many years and also for the former Owens Corning Fiberglass for more than 18 years.

Alongside his wife, he is survived by his children: James A. Medeiros and his wife Carol of Warwick; Don E. Medeiros and his fiancé Carla of Marathon, FL.; and Charlene L. Giguere and her husband Paul of Cumberland. His six grandchildren; Lauren, Andrew, Carmen, Austin, Alex, and Julia. Two great-grandchildren: Cora, and Jett.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Al's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM, in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM. Burial will be private.
