CUMBERLAND
SILVERIO, Alfredo M., 97, of Cumberland passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Joaquim and Maria Silverio, and maternal grandson of Alfredo and Theresa Martins of Portugal. He was the brother of the late Casimiro Silverio and the late Alice Monteiro.
Alfredo is survived by two daughter, Judith Correia and her husband Antonio of Cumberland with whom he resided for the past 25 years and Isilda Silva and her husband Armindo of Cumberland; his three grandchildren, Amy Bas and her husband John of California, Nancy Lowe and her husband Kevin of Lincoln, Paula Campbell and her husband John of Pascoag; his seven great-grandchildren, Montana and Rachel Campbell, Andrew and Isabella Silva, Ethan Bas, Benjamin Berube and Caleb Bas which he extremely adored; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Dennis Silva (Anna) of Cumberland.
Alfredo was a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. He had a passion for music, and was the founder of Portuguese radio, Voz da Colonia which he ran every Sunday for 55 years. His listeners adored his portuguese music.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Alfredo's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
