Albert J. Pikul, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Providence.

Born in Taunton, MA., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Victoria (Banas) Pikul. He resided in West Greenwich for the past four years, previously residing in Shalimar, FL., for 40 years and Cumberland previous to his time in Florida.

Al's illustrious career spanned over five decades, during which he served his beloved country with unwavering dedication and utmost distinction as a commissioned officer in the prestigious US Air Force. As a skilled helicopter pilot, he spearheaded countless crucial missions, earning the coveted rank of Major before retiring from active duty. In recognition of his remarkable valor and courage, he was decorated with the Air Medal for his exemplary service in combat crew. Al's tireless commitment to the nation's cause shall forever be etched in our hearts and minds, and his contribution towards accomplishing critical missions will continue to inspire generations to come.

He was a classic car enthusiast and an avid deep sea fisherman who loved all of his boats. Al also had a love for music and dancing.

He is survived by his children: Barbara Jolicoeur (Normand) of Pascoag, RI., Kathleen Leary (Rick) of Johnston, RI., Vickiann Votto, of West Greenwich, RI., David Pikul of Buffalo, NY., and Anthony Pikul of Shalimar, FL. His many grand and great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Stanley Pikul.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Al's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 9 AM to 10 AM followed by a Prayer Service at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
