CUMBERLAND
Albano M. Araujo, 89, passed away on April 30, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of the late Maria "Sao" (Gomes) Araujo.

Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Graciana Araujo.   He moved to this country in 1971, settling in Cumberland.

Albano was a communicant of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.  He was a Benfica fan who enjoyed gardening.  He will be remembered as a hardworking and caring person with many talents and was a true friend.   His family mattered the most to him.

He leaves his daughter, Maria Araujo of Cumberland, his two sons, Gregorio Araujo and his wife Regina of Cumberland, and Joseph Araujo and his partner Fernanda Costa of Lincoln.  His four grandchildren,, Sandra Lopes and her partner Greg Peckham, Joe Araujo and his wife Fatima, Jeffrey Araujo, and Lisa Swift and her husband Don; five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Zachary, Jacob, Joshua and Olivia; his brother Joao Araujo and his sister Tonita Sales; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Albano's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Wednesday from 8 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
