Agostinho Oliveira Cabral, 67, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Matança, Fornos de Algodres, Portugal, to the late Joaquim doCouto Cabral and Albertina Fonseca Oliveira Cabral. Since immigrating to the United State's, Agostinho carried his Portuguese roots with pride throughout his life. He spent many years working in manufacturing and later served as a floor supervisor at Lowe's until his retirement.
Agostinho enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in the things he created. He loved gardening, making wine, being outdoors and supporting his favorite soccer team, Benfica. He loved being on the dance floor and brought energy and presence wherever he went. Although his favorite thing to do was playing Sueca with his family and friends. He remained connected to the Portuguese community throughout his life. He was a former president of União Portuguesa Beneficiente and was an active member until his passing. He was a co-founding member of the Irmandade do Divino Espírito Santo do UPB and of the former Irmandade do Divino Espírito Santo da Sagrada Coração de Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Maria da Conceição Cabral; his three daughters, Pamela DeOliveira and her husband Shawn; Victoria Cabral, and Jennifer McMicken and her husband Thomas; and his grandchildren, Melia and Blake DeOliveira.
He was the loving brother of Piedade Rodrigues, Rosária Simão, Messiano Cabral, Maria Castro, Luis Cabral, Fernando Cabral, Pedro Cabral, Paula Cabral, John Cabral; and the late Esperança Atherton, Maria Augusta Abadier, and Herculano Alberto Cabral. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Agostinho's Life Celebration to be held with Visititng Hours on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Agostinho will be laid to rest in his hometown of Matança, Portugal.
