CUMBERLAND Agnes (Sousa) Silva, 100, formerly of Cumberland passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Silver Creek Nursing Home, Bristol.  She was the wife of the late Alvaro Silva. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Rapozo) Sousa.

She resided in Cumberland, Pawtucket and South Attleboro.

Mrs. Silva was formerly employed by Hassenfeld Inc, now Hasbro Inc, for many years until her retirement. She was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, she also enjoyed dancing.

She was a former communicant of St. Maria Goretti Church in Pawtucket. She leaves her nephew, Steven Sousa and his wife Christine of Swansea and her niece, Rena Mercer of North Carolina.  She was the aunt of the late Michael Sousa of West Warwick, and sister of the late Henry Sousa.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Agnes's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home.   Burial will be private.
