Adele was the beloved wife of the late Matthew S. Lubera, affectionately known as Mike or 'Mickey.'
Adele M. (Cordeau) Lubera, 95, formerly of Central Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Grandview Center in Cumberland, where she had resided for the past four years. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew S. Lubera, affectionately known as Mike or “Mickey,” who passed away on March 4, 2022.
Born in South Attleboro, Massachusetts, on March 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Cordeau and Hortense “Lena” (Porier) Cordeau, and the stepdaughter of the late Stanley “Ogie” Ogozalek. Adele lived in Central Falls for most of her life.
Adele devoted 36 years of her working life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Throughout her career, she worked at the former Frigon Nursing Home, Harris Health Care Center North, and Grandview Nursing Center, retiring in 2001. Her many years in healthcare reflected a longstanding commitment to the well-being and comfort of those entrusted to her care.
She leaves her loving daughter, Deborah A. DiBenedetto, and her husband, Dennis, of Cranston; three grandchildren, Dana Papitto and her husband, Jerry Jr., of Cranston, Ashley O'Rourke and her husband, Christopher, also of Cranston, and Drew DiBenedetto and his wife, Julianne, of Mansfield, Massachusetts; and four cherished great-grandchildren, Adelaide and Giulio Papitto, Kinsley O'Rourke, and Liam DiBenedetto.
She leaves her loving daughter, Deborah A. DiBenedetto, and her husband, Dennis, of Cranston.
Adele was also predeceased by her siblings, Jennie Lubera of Pawtucket, Florence Sczes of Slatersville, Rosalie Skrymiarz of Central Falls, Lorraine Turcotte of Pawtucket, Gloria Montecalvo of Cranston, Ruth Cordeau of Pawtucket, and Wilfred Cordeau of Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Adele's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 9-10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the St. Joseph Church, 391 High Street, Central Falls. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Adele's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 391 High Street, Central Falls, Rhode Island.
