CENTRAL FALLS

Adao Alves Figueiredo, 77, of Central Falls, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Dora DeJesus (Neves) Figueiredo, and they shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Insua, Portugal, he was the son of the late Casimiro and Madalena (Pinto) Figueiredo. He moved to this country in 1975, settling in Cumberland and later moving to Central Falls for the past 40 years.

He was a dedicated and passionate Sporting soccer club fan.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Susan Figueiredo of Central Falls and Daniel Figueiredo of Central Falls; his siblings, Victor Figueiredo, Carmita Alves, Cristina Correia, Jose Figueiredo, Duarte Figueiredo, Candida Figueiredo, and Maria Do Ceu Andrade; his grandchildren, Alysa Carmichael and her husband Matt, Luis Perez III, Isaiah Figueiredo, Rosalyn Figueiredo, Domenik Alves, Jude Figueiredo, and Chloe Susi; his great-grandson, Armani Figueiredo Alves.  He also leaves his great-granddaughter, Kora Anne Carmichael, estimated to be born in October.  He was the brother of the late Manuel Figueiredo, Rosa Figueiredo, Iraqueuetta Figueiredo.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Adao's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Monday, April 11, 2026 from 4 to 6 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 5:30 PM.   In accordance with his wishes, burial will take place in Portugal.
