TRIUMPH THROUGH TORNADO
The
Bernardo Family at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home is organizing a tornado relief effort
called “Triumph Through Tornado” to
bring badly needed supplies to the hard hit regions in Oklahoma.
"After
seeing this devastation, like many people I wanted to do something more than
simply talk about this tragedy," Owner, Dennis Bernardo said. "To
be able to help those who have experienced the losses of this horrific disaster,
would mean the world to my family and I.”
Dennis
is trying to coordinate the collection and transportation of supplies,
including drinking water, diapers, baby formula, canned foods, granola bars,
new or gently used clothing and other non-perishable items.
Beginning
Friday, May 24, the funeral home will have an enclosed box truck located in the
J. J. Duffy Funeral Home parking lot, located at 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122,
Cumberland which will be available for drop off of requested items. Please
make sure donations are neatly packed for shipment to the region. The box truck will be open for drop-off from
9 AM to 5 PM daily until Friday, May 31, when it will be taken to the region by
a member of the Bernardo family from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home.
The
box truck has been donated by Jason Jarvis, president of New England Truck and Auto Shine
who is also a resident of Cumberland.
